Redgate
From WiKiGrenada
Red Gate is the area marked by a substantial roundabout to the South of the Island. It lies between Westerhall to the West and Canal to the East. Being a junction of four roads the northerly road leads from Redgate up towards Mango Hole, Beaton and then Perdmontemps on its way to St George's the Capital, via St Paul's. The fourth road is the old access road to the Great House which is opposite the road that leads to Perdmontemps
The reason the area is named Red Gate is quite simply because when the Great House which stood at the top of the hill and has since burnt down was in it's hey day the bottom of the access road now the roundabout, had a Red Gate.
